About Mbeya

Mbeya is a non-denominational Christian ministry that raises up and sends out ministers for the purpose of bringing hope and development to rural villages.

We believe the most effective way to bring development into hard-to-reach places is through equipped local ministers who know the language and understand the culture.

Therefore, we have a ministry school in the northern region of Malawi that equips local believers in the Bible as well as principles for development and then sends them out to teach their own villages.

Prayer

Prayer is foundational for our ministry.

In San Diego, CA, we host monthly  prayer meetings for our students and ministry.

Education

Some students leave everything behind for the sake of being equipped and sent to the villages.

Each student is supported by a sponsorship team. Sponsorship provides a work opportunity to earn money for tuition, room, board and outreaches.

In the classroom, students study the Bible and biblical foundations for character and community development. The Bible is central to our ministry.

In addition to Bible instruction, students are given practical classes in business, financial management, and agriculture to provide them with tools to help them support themselves.

Discipleship

Once students are equipped in the classroom, they participate in a variety of daily, weekly and quarterly outreaches to help them put into practice the things learned.

The college has a relationship with Navigators Malawi which provides discipleship training to help students establish long-term ministry relationships with people and form deeper spiritual roots.

Through the equipping and sending of local ministers, we want to see every person in Malawi – regardless of race, social class, gender, ethnicity, orientation, or religious background – have an opportunity to come in contact with the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Upon graduation, some students are sent out to begin ministries of their own; others choose to stay in Zolozolo and continue ministry at the Zolozolo Bible Center.
